Octane Fest brings Jeremy McGrath to Boys & Girls Club dinner
Supercross King, Jeremy McGrath and NHRA Funny Car champ “Fast” Jack Beckman will be the guests of honor at an Octane Fest Boys & Girls Club fundraising dinner Thursday, June 12 at the Fallon Convention Center.
“Jeremy is a legend and Jack Beckman is a champion,” Ty Erquiaga, Octane Fest director said. “Their presence elevates this dinner as a “can’t miss” event and hopefully we’ll have a full house and raise money for the Boys & Girls Club,” he said.
The dinner is just one of the featured Octane Fest events aimed at drawing motor sports fans of all ages and demographics to Fallon June 10-15. The inaugural event is being underwritten by the Fallon Convention & Tourism Authority as a way to draw visitors and have a significant on the local and regional economies.
“The valley has a rich tradition of racing and the resources to host a motor sports festival,” Rick Gray, Fallon Convention & Tourism Authority executive director, said. “The presence of Top Gun and Rattlesnake Raceways, Sand Mountain, VORRA races, and motocross events makes Fallon a perfect venue for the week-long festival,” Gray explained. The festival features concerts by the Marshall Tucker Band and Unwritten Law, drag races, dirt track races, the Boys & Girls Club dinner, and a “festival central” with car shows, music, food, NASCAR simulators, Monster trucks, and other demonstrations by street bikes.
Jeremy McGrath has earned his reputation as the Supercross King winning seven supercross titles between 1993 and 2000. Jack Beckman is considered to be the NHRA funny car heir apparent to John Force winning more races than any other racer in the last two years.
Tickets for the dinner are on sale now at www.octanefest.com or at the Fallon Convention Center. Tickets are $50 and corporate tables of eight are $750. For more information call 775.423.4556
